Flat or 3D puff
Two looks
Flat embroidery
Thread stitched straight onto the hat. Handles more detail and smaller lettering, and works with most logos once they're simplified for thread.
3D puff
A layer of foam under dense satin stitches lifts the design off the hat. Best for bold letters and simple shapes on structured caps.
How an order works
Same process as every R&K order
Pick your hats
Choose colorways and quantities in the Hat Builder, or tell us what you need on a quote.
Send your logo
Upload the best version you have. We turn it into a stitch file for the machine, which is called digitizing.
Approve the mockup
Kelsey sends a mockup within 24 hours. Nothing is stitched until you approve it.
Wear it
About two weeks after approval. Tell us your deadline up front.
Digitizing (turning your logo into a stitch file) is a one-time fee per logo, $25 to $150 depending on how detailed it is. Reorders of the same logo are free. Kelsey confirms the fee on your proof.
Will my logo work?
What stitches well
- Bold, simple shapes and block lettering stitch cleaner than thin script.
- On hats, keep letters at least about 1/4 inch tall; anything finer fills in.
- Thread can't do gradients, shading or photos. Those work better as a DTF print, which goes on hats too.
- 3D puff needs even bolder lines, so thin parts of a logo stay flat.
Not sure? Upload it anyway. Kelsey will tell you on the mockup if anything needs simplifying.
Files
What to send
The highest-quality version of your logo you have. A vector PDF, AI or SVG is ideal; a PNG at 300 DPI with a transparent background works too. A clear photo of a brand or sketch is fine for a quote.
Care
Richardson, the hat maker, recommends hand washing and spot cleaning caps with warm water and a mild detergent. Don't dry clean 3D puff.
